JETSETTER: The Art Deco lobby of this former 19th-century petit palace is dominated by vibrant shades of red. Arched doorways, magnificently painted mural ceilings, sparkling chandeliers, plush velvet chairs, stained glass windows and an authentic 1930s gilded cage elevator create a sense of decadent grandeur. Add impeccable service and an elegant bar to the mix, and it’s as if you’ve just stepped into a bygone era.

The guest rooms range from a cozy 194 square feet (Double Room) to 301 square feet (Carlton Room). Comfy beds sit alongside Louis Vuitton–inspired wardrobes, a work desk and period-style chairs, and the Carlton’s signature red is used liberally in each room. Bathrooms feature oversize round Deco mirrors and are stocked with Cinq Mondes toiletries. In place of a Do Not Disturb sign, you can opt for a more mellow “Silence. I’m still dreaming” door hanger.

Although there’s no restaurant on-site, you can order room service from the adjacent Le Centre by Georges, an excellent brasserie from Michelin-starred chef George Blanc, until 11 p.m…(Full Article)
